Monomayee is a Senior Associate at Khurana & Khurana. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Master’s degree in Genetics/Genetic engineering from University of Calcutta. She is also a Registered Patent Agent (India). She was trained in Molecular Biology Processes, at Syngene International Ltd, a subsidiary of Biocon Ltd., as part of her Master’s course and completed project titled “3-dimensional protein structure prediction and comparison” as part of her PG diploma programme in Bioinformatics. She started her career in IP in 2007, at D. P. Ahuja & Co., by handling Patents Document Filing, Patent searching, Filing for change of Owners/Applicant Names, amendments before prosecution and after grant, filing annuities, and working of patents for mostly international clients. Subsequently, she has handled drafting and prosecution in various domains and contributed in developing a new IP solutions firm, closer2patents as its first member of staff. Monomayee has also worked in UAE to provide clients with IP solutions – trademark & patents, and handled trademark infringement and enforcement cases. She is well-versed in filing procedures in GCC countries.
